In the Romanian football championship, FCSB beat one of its top rivals, Rapid Bucharest, 2-1.

The football team FCSB, Romania’s defending champions, Sunday night won 2-1 the Romanian Super League derby against Rapid Bucharest, the current leader in the standings. FCSB were the first to score (Darius Olaru, 24’) with a shot to the far corner, after passing to and from Daniel Bîrligea. On 75 minutes, Florin Tănase brought the score to 2-0, from a penalty shootout after a foul by Denis Ciobotariu. Rapid’s goal was scored by Alexandru Dobre, also from a penalty shootout on 86 minutes, after a foul on Claudiu Petrila by the Bosnian Danijel Graovac. FCSB has thus reached 8 consecutive matches without defeat, with 5 wins and 3 draws, but they are still below the places in the standings that lead to the play-offs. In the last 5 legs, Rapid have only one win, one draw and 3 losses.
