After 11 rounds, Dinamo is ranked 8th in the group tables with 6 points. The Romanian champions will next play FC Porto of Portugal away from home next Thursday.

The Romanian mens handball club Dinamo Bucharest on Thursday lost 30-25 the match played on home turf against the Spanish team Barcelona in Champions League Group B. After 11 rounds, Dinamo is ranked 8th in the group tables with 6 points. The Romanian champions will next play FC Porto of Portugal away from home next Thursday.


In womens handball, let us note that this weekend will see matches in European inter-club competitions. In Champions League, on Sunday, CSM Bucharest is playing Esbjerg of Denmark in Group A at home. Esbjerg is first in the group tables with 22 points, whereas CSM is in 5th place with 14 points.


In the EHF European League, on Saturday, in Group B, Minaur Baia Mare will take on Bietigheim of Germany at home. Minaur is second in the group tables and needs a win if it is to advance to the quarterfinals. Also on Saturday, Măgura Cisnădie is playing Herning Ikast of Denmark at home in Group C. Măgura is ranked 3rd in the group with 4 points, the same as Storhamar of Norway in second place. On Sunday, SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea will play Vác of Hungary away from home. SCM has already secured 2nd place in the group tables, which qualifies the team directly to the quarterfinals.




In news from football, on Thursday, Farul Constanţa won 8-2 in an away match against Academica Clinceni, the highest score reported this season. The match was a rescheduled fixture counting towards the 23rd round. This weekend the domestic championship continues with its 27th round. On Friday, FCU Craiova will play UTA Arad, whereas Dinamo Bucharest will take on Gaz Metan Mediaș. On Saturday, FC Voluntari will take on Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe at home, whereas CS Mioveni will play the visiting side FCSB. On Sunday, in Ploiești, Chindia Târgoviște will play FC Botoșani while CFR Cluj will play Rapid Bucharest at home. On Monday, Farul Constanţa will play FC Argeș, and Academica Clinceni will go up against Universitatea Craiova. CFR is top of the league tables with 64 points, followed by FCSB with 58 points. (VP)
