The first two matches are scheduled for Friday: FC Hermannstadt versus FC Botoșani, and Universitatea Cluj versus Oțelul Galați. With a win, the Cluj-based students would secure their place in the play-offs.

Saturday opens with a clash between league leaders Universitatea Craiova and bottom-placed Metaloglobus Bucharest. For Craiova, a victory would consolidate their position at the top of the standings. For the Bucharest side, a win would be a first, considering they have not secured a single away victory in the 28 rounds played so far. In the reverse fixture, the score ended 0-0. The second match of the day takes place in Ovidiu, where Farul Constanța face CFR Cluj. A win for the visitors would guarantee their play-off spot. For the seaside team, the match only counts toward points carried into the play-out stage.

Three matches are scheduled for Sunday. In Ploiești, 12th-placed Petrolul take on 13th-placed Csikszereda. This will be followed by a highly anticipated game in Bucharest between Dinamo and FC Argeș. The team from Pitești currently occupies the sixth and final play-off spot, three points ahead of seventh-placed FCSB. A victory for Argeș may be difficult to predict, but it would secure their play-off qualification, as they hold the advantage over FCSB thanks to wins in both direct encounters. Sunday concludes with the match in Arad between UTA and FCSB. To keep their play-off hopes alive, the Bucharest side have no option other than victory.

On Monday, the final match of the round sees Unirea Slobozia face Rapid Bucharest. It will be the second night match played since the reopening of the stadium in Ialomița.

In the standings, Craiova lead with 56 points, four ahead of Dinamo and Rapid. These three teams are the only ones to have secured their place in the play-offs so far. (VP)
