A talk with Maggie Reilly, ahead of her show in Bucharest

This December, Maggie Reilly joins a remarkable lineup in Bucharest, in the show entitled “Remember Classy Hits”, which brings together artists whose songs became part of Europe’s collective memory. Alongside Maggie Reilly, the stage will feature Ray Wilson, the voice associated with Genesis classics; John Kelly of The Kelly Family; and Jan Keizer, the original voice of BZN. Each brings a catalogue of songs that entire generations grew up with—songs still played, still loved, still instantly recognised.

Ahead of this event, Maggie spoke with our colleague from Radio Romania Culture about her early years, the artists who shaped her imagination, the unexpected way in which her collaboration with Mike Oldfield began, and her connection with the audiences who have followed her for more than four decades.
