The year 2026 has been officially declared as the year “Nadia Comăneci” by the Romanian authorities to mark 50 years since the first ten in gymnastics obtained at the Montreal Olympics back in 1976
For their performances a the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, Siomona Radis and Magdalena Rusu have been designated Athletes of the Week
Romania won four gold medals and one bronze at the International Physics Olympiad.
