The Regional ice hockey competition Erste Liga will be pitching two Romanian sides, Corona Braşov against ACSH Gheorgheni

The ATP 250 tennis tournament in Bucharest with 612 thousand dollars in prize money was won on Sunday by Argentinean Mariano Navone, seeded sixtieth in the world ranking. He outperformed in the finals Daniel Merida of Spain 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. Navone’s win got him 93 thousand Euros and 250 ATP points.

U-BT Cluj-Napoca was defeated on Sunday on their own turf by Bosna Telecom Sarajevo, 98-90, in the Top 8 phase of the international competition ABA League, also known as the Adriatic League. Bosna Telecom took its revenge for the first game they lost in Sarajevo against the Romanian champions a week ago.
Corona Braşov has qualified for the finals of the regional competition Erste Liga in ice hockey. Corona won their game on Sunday against the Hungarian side Budapest Jegkorong Akademia, 4-2, in the semifinals’ last match. So Corona secured an aggregate win 4-3 in the semifinals, which went on under the principle the best out of seven matches. In the other semifinal game, trophy holder, ACSH Gheorgheni, secured a 4-1 aggregate win against Jegesmedvek Miskolc. The finals will unfold after the same principle, the best of seven, the first two being scheduled in Brasov on April 9 and 10.
Last weekend saw the matches counting towards the Romanian football Superleague, the third of the play-off and play-out stages. In the play-out, where the main objective is to avoid demotion to the second league, the first game in Botosani on Friday ended with the 3-2 win of the local football club against the champions FCSB, which got the upper hand 1-2 and 2-1. On Saturday in Galati, local side Otelul clinched a 2-0 win against Hermannstadt. On Sunday in Arad, local side UTA thrashed Metaloglobus Bucharest 5-1, while in Ovidiu, Unirea Slobozia clinched a 1-0 win against Farul Constanţa. The match on Monday will pitch Petrolul Ploieşti against Csikszereda.
In the play-off section, where teams fight for the title of champion, on Saturday FC Arges versus Dinamo Bucharest ended in a draw, 1-1. On Sunday in Bucharest, the local side Rapid conceded a 2-1 defeat to Universitatea Cluj. The leg’s last match on Monday pitches Universitatea Craiova against CFR Cluj. Universitatea Cluj tops the ranking three points ahead Craiova.
