Romania’s Volleyball side has obtained a noble performance

Romania’s volleyball side on Wednesday clinched a 3-2 win against the en-titre Olympic champion, France. The match took place in Cluj-Napoca, western Romania and counted towards Group D of the European Championship EuroVolley 2026, hosted by Italy, Bulgaria, Finland and Romania. The Romanians, who had already qualified for the round of 16, clinched a spectacular win coming back from a set score of 0-2.
Cristian-Daniel Chiţigoi, with 28 points, was the best scorer of the Romanian side. France comes first in the group with 13 points and 4 wins. It is followed by Germany also with four wins but with 11 points. Romania comes third in the group with 3 wins and 9 points. Latvia comes next with 2 wins and 6 points whereas Turkiye and Switzerland are at the bottom each with one win and 3 points. The first four sides have qualified for the round of 16 where Romania will be taking on Ukraine in Sofia, Bulgaria on Sunday. In the previous edition of the aforementioned tournament, the Romanians made it to the quarters and eventually ranked 7th.
Now let’s have a look at the latest in tennis. The all-Romanian pair, Alexandru Jecan/ Bogdan Pavel on Wednesday qualified for the quarters of the doubles contest of the challenger tournament in Szczecin, Poland, a competition with more than 203 thousand Euros in prize money. The Romanians have outperformed the Czech-German pair David Poljak/Tim Ruehl 7-6, 7-6 in the eighth finals.
Romania’s football internationals start coming back to Romania for the Nations League matches. The first to arrive were Nicolae Stanciu from the Chinese team Dalian, and Andrei Burcă, who is also playing for a Chinese side, Yunnan. The two capitalized on the break in the Chinese championship. Romania’s headcoach, Gheorghe Hagi hasn’t announced the lineup yet but Romania will be playing Sweden in an away match next Friday. Then they will be up against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday, September 28th. On October 2, our footballers will be taking on Poland in an away game, then three days later they will be playing Sweden at home.
