The Romanian national football team will face Sweden away on Friday in the first match of the current Nations League edition.

The Romanian men’s volleyball team was knocked out from the European Championship after being defeated 3-0 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday in Sofia by reigning Olympic champions France. Although missing out on a spot among Europe’s top four teams, the Romanian squad has theoretically secured its place at the World Championship scheduled for next year in Poland. Following their victories at the European Championship, including a group-stage win over France, the Romanian volleyball players earned enough points in the world rankings to qualify for the World Championship.
Boxer Lăcrămioara Perijoc, a former European champion, stopped in the quarterfinals of the continental championships in Sofia in the 57 kg category on Wednesday. She was defeated by Turkey’s Esra Yıldız Kahraman, a bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and at last year’s World Championships in Niš, Serbia. Romania fielded nine athletes at the European Championships, including three women and six men. The best results were quarterfinal appearances achieved by Perijoc and Crinuța Sebe in the 65 kg category.
The Romanian national football team faces Sweden away on Friday in their opening match of the current Nations League edition. The squad arrived in the Scandinavian country on Wednesday and scheduled their official training session for Thursday. The match will take place at Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on Friday starting at 9:45 PM Romanian time. This will be followed on Monday, September 28, by a home match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bucharest, played behind closed doors. On October 2, an away match against Poland is scheduled, and the current campaign’s first half will conclude with the second leg against Sweden on Monday, October 5, in Bucharest. The team’s remaining two Nations League matches will be played in November: a home game against Poland on November 14, and an away match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 17. (VP)
