The Work and Live editorial project, aimed at foreign workers in Romania, now has applications available for Android and iOS. These can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play and the App Store. The project is also supported by the website www.workandlive.ro. Work and Live is an initiative of the Regional Studios Department in collaboration with Radio Romania International, both part of Radio Romania, and with the support of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).
Work and Live is an online resource of practical information, in line with Radio Romania’s public service mission, aimed at foreign nationals working legally in Romania. The content is based on official information from Romanian institutions. Foreign workers often face difficulties in accessing information necessary for daily life, as well as details regarding their rights and obligations, such as where to report issues related to their employment, how to access the healthcare system, what benefits they are entitled to, etc. Work and Live aims to support foreign nationals working legally and to help make their lives in Romania easier.
The editorial content is available in Romanian and English and is automatically translated via Google Translate into the languages spoken in the countries of origin of the largest groups of foreign workers in Romania (Nepali, Sinhala, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Arabic, Turkish, Punjabi, Urdu, Pashto, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Simplified Chinese). The Work and Live website also includes the “Romania, a Second Home” project, which presents life stories shared by 18 newcomers to Romania for whom this country has become their second home.
