“Women at Work — Crossroads, Rhythms, and Continuities” is an ever-evolving archive, launched in 2023 by Simona Deaconescu, (choreographer and director, Romania) and Flor Firvida Martin (choreographer and researcher, Mexico/Argentina).
The project features a multi-channel video installation, a performative reading, and a participatory space. It is built upon a series of videos produced to date in dialogue with 22 women, trans, and non-binary individuals from Eastern Europe and Latin America (specifically Romania, Mexico, Ecuador and the Republic of Moldova).
The exhibition and the performative readings of “Women at Work — Crossroads, Rhythms, and Continuities” are part of the multi-year programme “Body Narratives. Collective Actions” (2025–2026). This initiative is coordinated by the Tangaj Collective Association and co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration, alongside the IRIDESCENT Festival programme organised by the National Centre for Dance Bucharest.
