CS Universitatea Craiova will be facing FC Botosani, while second league team FC Hermannstadt take on Gaz Metan Mediaş in a fixture counting towards the semifinals of Romanias Cup in football. The matches are double-legged ties, with the first leg scheduled over April 17 and 19 in Craiova and Sibiu, while the return leg is to be played over May 8 and 10, in Botosani and Medias, respectively. The final of the competition is scheduled on May 27, with the stadium yet to be decided. FC Hermannstadt and FC Botoşani will play their fixtures in the competitions semifinals as an absolute first.

FCSB football club received a fine worth 5,000 lei, that is roughly 1,200 Euro, placed on the club by the Discipline Committee with the Romanian Football Federation. FCSB was punished in the wake of the incidents during the match against FC Viitorul, a match FCSB won, 2-1, counting as a fixture in the first round of League Ones group 1. FC Viitoruls manager Gheoghe Hagi also received a fine, worth 1,000, that is roughly 250 Euros. In another case, Sepsi OSK Sfintu Gheorghes physiotherapist Balasz Kamsulik received a four-games ban and had to pay a fine of 4,500 Lei,, that is roughly 1,000 Euro, after the match against Concordia Chiajna. Footballer Filipe Viloco De Oliveira, playing for Sepsi OSK Sfintu Gheorghe, also received a suspension a fine worth 740 lei, that is roughly 170 Euros.

Prosecutors with the Nation Anti-Corruption Directorate are investigating the Romanian Football Federation. The anti-corruption prosecutors office has initiated an investigation into the legal cases the Federation had with the Romanian Lottery during the term in office of the federations former president Mircea Sandu. The case file was opened on September 8, 2014, targeting “influence peddling or abuse of office perpetrated by a person in a top management position, used to obtain, for herself or himself, or for another person, money, goods or other undue gains. Also added to the aforementioned file was the charge of “abuse of office, if the respective public servant obtained, for herself or himself, or for another person, an undue gain, with very serious consequences. In effect, prosecutors targeted a series of commissions worth 4.7 million Euros, illegally granted in the wake of the case against the Romanian Lottery.
