At the World Wrestling Championships, which ended in Zagreb on Sunday, the Romanian delegation obtained only one medal – Andreea Ana stepped onto the podium’s third step in the 55 kilogram category. At the precedent competition held in Tirana last year, wrestlers from Romania obtained two medals in the non-Olympic categories, Katerina Zelenykh became silver medalist in the 65 kilogram category and Denis Mihai won bronze in the 55 kilogram contest.

The World outdoor Athletics Championships ended in Tokyo on Sunday. The Romanian delegation made up of nine athletes, six boys and three girls walked away with no medal from the prestigious event. Sadly no athlete from Romania qualified for a final in the aforementioned sporting event.

Several Romanian crews have already qualified for the semis and even for the finals of the World Rowing Championships that kicked off in Shanghai on Sunday. On Sunday, the Romanian women’s quadruple scull, made up of Emanuela Ciotău, Alexandra Ungureanu, Andrada Moroșanu and Ioana Mădălina Cornea, came second in first tier and will compete in the finals. On Monday, the Romanian women’s four, made up of, Ancuța Bodnar, Geanina Juncanariu, Adriana Adam and Amalia Bereș, ensured their place in the finals after coming second in the first qualifying tier.
