2025 Listeners’ Day on RRI
We invite you to be part of “Listeners’ Day” on Radio Romania International on November 2
Radio România Internațional, 06.10.2025, 13:54
Dear friends, we invite you to be part of “Listeners’ Day” on Radio Romania International on November 2, 2025, the first Sunday after the Romanian public radio broadcaster’s anniversary on November 1.
We live in a world where dangers come not only from the streets or battlefields, but also from the invisible space of the Internet. Cybersecurity has become one of the greatest challenges of the present. From unsophisticated phishing campaigns, those fake messages or calls that trick us into providing personal data, to financial fraud with AI-generated voices, each of us can be a target. At the same time, cybercrime groups organise ransomware attacks, blocking hospitals, universities or companies. Cyberwarfare is quickly becoming a reality: attacks on energy networks, on communications or even massive disinformation campaigns and botnets that can influence elections or destabilize societies.
Artificial intelligence plays a dual role: on the one hand, it provides attackers with new tools capable of creating highly credible fake messages; on the other hand, it helps experts detect threats more quickly.
In this landscape, many countries and international organisations are working to introduce stricter rules and protection. But the truth is that each of us plays a role: a strong password or checking the source of a news item are small but essential steps to protect ourselves.
In the 2025 edition of “Listeners’ Day” on RRI, we ask you: how do you perceive these threats? Do you feel protected against them or rather vulnerable? What do you think society should do to better defend itself?
We look forward to receiving your answers, so that we can include them in RRI’s broadcast of November 2, 2025. You can email us at engl@rri.ro or message us on Facebook. If you wish, you can send pre-recorded audio answers on WhatsApp, at +40744312650, or you can send us your phone number and we will call you from the studio to record your audio message. Thank you!
