Steaua Bucharest won the men’s volleyball Balkan Cup on Sunday in Kakanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This success secures the Bucharest-based team’s qualification for the Challenge Cup, the club said on its Facebook page. It is the first time in the last 13 years that a team from Romania wins this competition, after Universitatea Cluj in 2012. In Sunday’s last game, Steaua defeated the host team, Kakanj, 3-0. The Turkish team Spor Toto Ankara came in second, after 3-1 against OFI Crete, which ranked third.
