Dive into the future of cybersecurity, a festival dedicated to cybersecurity for young people, both school and university students

Summer, sea, fun on the beach! Sounds like vacation? Well, we have another challenge for you: the CyberSea Festival 2025: Dive into the future of cybersecurity, a festival dedicated to cybersecurity for young people, both school and university students.

Fraga Țariuc, president of Women4Cyber, told us about the organization that initiated the event:

“Women4Cyber is a Europe-wide movement, there is Women4Cyber Foundation, which has 31 chapters – as they are called – branches all over Europe, and we aim to promote women in cybersecurity and beyond. We want to promote young people in this field, which is extremely dynamic and very important at the moment. In Romania we opened this chapter last year, in March was the official launch and since then we have organized various activities mainly to raise awareness on cybersecurity and to promote women and young people in this area.”

Fraga Țariuc tempted us with many surprises that fhe festival has in store:

“We are looking forward to welcoming you to Constanta on July 18 and 19, at the CyberSea Festival, it is a unique event in Romania, where passion for technology meets practical education and fun, in an unconventional setting, namely at the nautical base of the Maritime University of Constanta. The event is more than a festival, we see it as a springboard for young people who dream of turning their passion for cybersecurity into a career. We will not only talk about cybersecurity, but actually put it into the hands of the participants. We want to have a fresh, open event where young people can learn, speak freely and actually test real things, not just sit and listen to presentations on stage, as they do at the usual events of this kind.”

Fraga Țariuc gave us more details about the festival:

“More concretely, there will be two action-packed days for those passionate about technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or tech entrepreneurship. They will have free access to keynotes and panels with international and national experts, on how to build a Tech company in Europe, to the latest AI and Deep Fake attacks, hands-on workshops, where they will learn ethical hacking, how to protect their data, how to secure a drone system, they will have an introduction to red teaming, how to secure a software right from the design phase, and many, many other activities of this kind. We’ll even have a start-up and innovation village, which is a special space dedicated to activities that will teach you how to launch your own cybersecurity company, what investors are looking for and how to turn your idea into a tech unicorn, which is all the rage now. They’ll get advice from experts, mentors and startup founders. We will also have Capture the flag, which means hands-on exercises and challenges, mind the exploit, OSINT challenges, bug bounty simulations. They’re for all levels from beginner to advanced. We’ll even have “speed mentoring, ask me anything” one-on-one sessions with industry professionals. Clearly, ten minutes can change a career. We’ll also have a kids corner, for the little ones, where there will be fun and educational activities on online safety. We’ll have a Job Fair, wherefrom one might even walk away with a job or an internship. And on Saturday evening the event will end with a beach party, where there will also be some prizes awarded, because we know that the best ideas come from people having fun together.”

What do those who want to take part have to do? Fraga Țariuc explained:

“They have to access www.cybersea.ro and there they will find the registration form. Participation is free of charge, the registration deadline is July 10 and we are looking forward to welcoming them! We have over 100 registered participants at the moment, but there is still time!”
