Music Time: Fête de la Musique in Bucharest
The Romanian trio Lisière Collectif and the French artist and producer Leo Pol performed in Control Club on the first night of Bucharest’s Fête de la Musique this year

This week we talk about Fête de la Musique, Music Day, an annual celebration of music in mid-June or around the summer solstice. In Bucharest this year Control Club and the French Institute in Romania organised two days of events that brought together artists from France and Romania. And since electronics, house, techno, DJ sets and the like are rarely featured in our series, I thought this particular area deserves some more exploring, so I had a chat with Bogdan Ardeleanu of the Romanian trio Lisière Collectif, and with the French artist and producer Leo Pol, both of whom performed in Control Club on the first night of Bucharest’sFête de la Musique.
The project Lisière Collectif was born out of a shared passion for nature, memory and minimalism; it approaches simple and minimalist themes in a sound that blends elegant electronic textures with techno grooves, one of the members, Bogdan Ardeleanu, told me just before their set.
The first Fête de la Musique night of 2026 was beautifully rounded off by Leo Pol, an artist that constantly pushes the boundaries of music genres and plays with house, trance, techno, hip-hop, pop and everything in between. With over 10 million streams for tracks like This Must Be Illegal and You Got The Funk, he quickly built an international reputation that brought him to venues and festivals such as Berghain / Panorama Bar, Printworks, DC-10, Shelter Amsterdam, Gazgolder, Exit Festival and Khidi. The launch of the Tigh Pop label in 2023 was the start of a new stage in Leo Pol’s career, with a project that pushes the boundaries of electronic music and combines eurodance, pop and techno influences, with a strong emphasis on vocals.
