A new piano-based therapy programme for children with autism spectrum disorder

Piano Therapy Association uses the piano as its main tool in a programme for children with autism spectrum disorder. The study, titled “Piano with a Twist,” was published in 2022 and shows significant improvement in children’s motricity, communication, and adaptive behaviour skills.
The jazz composer and performer Ana Dubyk discusses the programme in her capacity as both a musician, and a practitioner of the piano therapy method.
