The Romanian national airline TAROM has temporarily suspended the operation of commercial flights to and from Tel Aviv (TLV), from February 28 to March 3, 2026, inclusive, after the Israeli authorities declared the temporary closure of Israel’s airspace.
The airline stated that it is permanently monitoring developments in Israel, in coordination with operational partners and the relevant authorities, on multiple levels – security, airspace and airport operations, and will make real-time updates. The safety of passengers and crews is TAROM’s priority. The company will resume operating flights to Tel Aviv as soon as operational conditions allow. Passengers with reservations on TAROM flights to/from Tel Aviv during the affected period will be informed directly and can choose to rebook their trip on a later date, after operations resume, the aforementioned source says.
Low-cost airline Wizz Air has also suspended all flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman, until March 7 inclusive, following the recent escalation of the security situation in Iran.
Air operators Animawings, from Romania, and HiSky, from the Republic of Moldova, have also announced the cancellation of flights to Tel Aviv, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. HiSky flights 237 Bucharest – Tel Aviv, scheduled for Saturday evening, and Animawings A2700/A2701 Bucharest – Tel Aviv – Bucharest, scheduled for Sunday, March 1, have been canceled.
Israeli airline El Al is canceling five flights to and from Tel Aviv scheduled for February 28 to March 2, according to the National Company of Bucharest Airports (CNAB). Flights 572 on Saturday, 571, 573 and 574 on Sunday, March 1, and 576 on March 2 are impacted.
CNAB has announced several ‘ferry’ flights (without passengers) of Israeli-based airlines are expected to land during the day, allowing them to safely park their aircraft on Bucharest airports.
