Romanian handball player Crina
Pintea was designated the best pivot of the European Championships held in
France in December. Last week Pintea made her debut with the Hungarian side
Gyor. Pintea scored eight goals in the Hungarian championship's derby fixture,
pitting Gyor against Ferencvaros Budapest, a game Gyor had no problem winning,
39-33. Crina Pintea thus earned the respect of her teammates, who found out
they can count on Crina Pintea's performance. Following her successful debut
with Gyor, Crina Pintea has been designated Athlete of the Week by Radio
Crina Pintea was born on April 3rd,
1990, in a commune of Bacau County, in eastern Romania. She made her debut as a
professional handballer at the age of 20, with Handball Cub Zalau, head coached
by Gheorghe Tadici. In 2012, HC Zalau reached as far as the EHF Cup finals. In
2013, HC Zalau reached as far the semifinals of the aforementioned competition.
In 2015 Crina Pintea initiated negotiations with HCM Baia Mare, reason enough
for headcoach Gheorghe Tadici to rule her out of the team. Then Crina Pintea
was signed up by German side Thuringer, a team with which she won the
Bundeslinga in 2016. In 2017, Crina Pintea was signed up by French team Issy
Paris Hand, known as Paris 92 at the moment. In the 2017-2018 season, Crina
Pintea was designated the best pivot of French women's handball championship. Subsequently,
Crina Pintea's contract was taken over by Hungarian champion Gyor.
Crina Pintea made her debut with
the national team in 2012, with which she won a bronze medal at the World
Championship in Denmark, in 2015.
