Romania has two representatives in the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 tennis tournament in Osaka

The Romanian women’s national handball team was defeated by the Norwegian team with a score of 29-27, on Wednesday, in Larvik, in group G1 of the EHF Euro Cup 2026 competition. In what was coach Ovidiu Mihăilă’s debut match, the tricolors did rather well and were even in the lead in the second half of the game. However, Norway had a better end and won. Romania’s top scorer was Sorina Grozav, with 7 goals. For the Norwegians, the most goals were scored by Henny Ella Reistad – 10. The five host teams of the 2026 European Championship, namely Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Turkey, will not play in the competition’s preliminaries. They participate in the EHF Euro Cup, along with Norway, Denmark and Hungary. Romania will play their next match on Sunday, in Craiova, against Poland.
More news from handball, this time from the Champions League for men, where Dinamo Bucharest recorded its fifth consecutive defeat. In a game in Group A, the Romanian champions were defeated away from home by the Danish team Aalborg Handbold by 34 to 28.
