BREAKING NEWS: Ciprian Ciucu wins the mayoral race in Bucharest

UPDATE 4: Final results: Ciprian Ciucu (PNL) is the new mayor of Bucharest, after winning the mayoral election in Bucharest, with 36.16% of the votes. Ranking second was Anca Alexandrescu (AUR) with 21.94%.Daniel Băluță (PSD) came third with 20.51%, followed by Cătălin Drulă (USR) with 13.90% and Ana Ciceală (SENS), with 5.85%.

UPDATE 3: After the count of 99,92 of all cast votes, Ciprian Ciucu (PNL) secures a clear victory in the Bucharest mayoral race, with 35.76% of the  votes.  He is followed by Anca Alexandrescu (AUR) with 21.69%,  Daniel Băluță (PSD) with 20.27%  and Cătălin Drulă (USR) with 13.74%.

“I want to convey a message of unity to the parties in the ruling coalition, especially those of  center-right orientation. We will have a lot of work to do together, at the Bucharest City Hall, as we will have many projects to carry through.  I want to make of Bucharest the project of my life,  not just on short term, but in the long run. Cities that are truly changing need mayors to stay there, for the long haul,” said Ciprian Ciucu,  shortly after the results of the exil polls were made public,  at 9 p.m.

UPDATE 2: Ciprian Ciucu (PNL) is the clear winner of the mayoral race in Bucharest, after the count of 97.13% of the votes, with 35.48%. He is followed by Anca Alexandrescu (AUR) with 21.83%, Daniel Băluță (PSD) with 20.39% and Cătălin Drulă (USR) with 13.71%.

UPDATE 1: After the count of some 95% of the cast votes in the mayoral election in Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu (PNL) is the new mayor of Bucharest.

According to exit polls, Ciprian Ciucu is set to win the mayoral race in Romania’s capital city, Bucharest.

The poll conducted by CURS-Avangard places the Liberal candidate in first place, with 32.7% of the votes, followed by Daniel Băluță (PSD) with 26.3%, Anca Alexandrescu (AUR) with 20.2%, Cătălin Drulă (USR) with 12.8% and Ana Ciceală (SENS), with 6%.

According to SOCIOPOL, ranking first is Ciprian Ciucu with 32%, followed by Daniel Băluţă – 27%, Anca Alexandrescu -19%, Cătălin Drulă – 12% and Ana Ciceală – 8 %.

INSCOP credits Ciprian Ciucu  with 31.7% of the cast votes, followed by Daniel Băluță (PSD) – 26.1%, Anca Alexandrescu – 21.1%, Cătălin Drulă – 12.8% and Ana Ciceală – 7%.

Voter turnout  stood at 32.17% (589,918 cast votes), approximately 5% lower than in the 2024 mayoral election in Bucharest.
