Music Time: DokStation

The only festival in Romania exclusively dedicated to music documentaries reaches its 10th edition

Taking place in several venues in Bucharest between May 20^th and the 24^th, the anniversary edition of the festival sheds light on extraordinary musicians and bands that made history, on movements and music genres that have shaped the social, political and cultural scenes in which they emerged, on stories of rebellion, freedom, creativity and resilience and on the unbreakable bonds between artists and music fans.

Live sets by the Turkish dark-wave, post-punk band SHE PAST AWAY and by the Bucharest-based alternative music outfit KUMM were also included in the festival programme, in addition to the music documentary screenings.

I invited Cristian Busuioc, the co-founder and artistic director of DokStation, to RRI’s studio for a chat about how a niche festival in Romania has grown into a success story.
